Toyo Tire Teams up with Tough Mudder

Toyo Tire USA Corp. has partnered with a group of team-oriented obstacle course races. The tiremaker will become the official tire of the Tough Mudder family of events. In addition, participants in these race will face special Toyo-branded obstacles.

“We are thrilled to welcome the Tough Mudder family of events and their participants to Team Toyo,” said Amy Coleman, senior director of marketing, Toyo Tire USA Corp. “They embody the Toyo Tires All or Nothing spirit demonstrated by our products and our athletes. This partnership also gives an excellent opportunity for people to touch and feel the durability of our products.”

The Toyo Tires Skidmarked obstacle is 10-foot-tall wall angled toward participants of the Tough Mudder race. Teammates must work together to get on top of the wall, and then navigate down the face of it past a row of Toyo Open Country A/T II tires, according to the company.

Participants in the Mudderella race will test their agility and balance on Wheels in Motion, an obstacle of tire swings built out of Toyo tires. Urban Mudders, another Tough Mudder race, can also expect to see a Toyo Tires-branded obstacle in 2015, the company said.

Off the course, Toyo will have displays and challenges at select events, and the two companies will work together on other cross-promotional opportunities, according to Toyo.
